A great little Mexican/American diner that offers a variety of breakfast foods at a good value. We had a couple of omelets and a skillet and everything was great. They have a lot of Mexican themed dishes on their menu (with things like chorizo and jalapenos). There was a slight language barrier with our server, which was a great chance for me to practice my Spanish skills.

Breakfast at Sunshine Breakfast House & Grill (5116 W 38th St) My wife and I decided to try something new today and headed west after hearing good things about Sunshine Breakfast House & Grill. It’s tucked just off the north side of 38th Street—easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. I ordered the Meat Lover’s Omelette—bacon, sausage, ham, and cheese. It came with hash browns, and I added toast and two extra strips of bacon. Coffee was hot and solid. I also ordered orange juice, but it never came—forgot about it until now. My wife went off-menu and built her own plate: scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, hash browns, wheat toast, and pancakes. No complaints—she enjoyed it all. The food? Really good. My omelette was stuffed and full of flavor. They’ve got a big menu that mixes American and Mexican breakfast and lunch options, so there’s a lot to explore. The place is clean and comfortable, with cozy booths, standard tables, and a bar area that mirrors the main dining room. Service was friendly and quick, though the language barrier made some things a little bumpy. Nothing major, just something to note. Bottom line: Solid breakfast spot. Big portions, clean space, good food. I’d come back if I’m in the area and hungry.

We ate there for the first time Nov 2025 and it was good. Service and atmosphere was decent. It's not food I would crave but would go back to if I was in the area.

The food was so so delicious. My husband and I give this restaurant a 10 and 2 thumbs up. We highly recommend and we can't wait to go back.
